Research projects I contributed to

1. Chasing Convergence: The EU's partnerships in the Indo-Pacific and implementation of the GG Initiative - Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Publications [Link]

I contributed to this comprehensive research project as a research assistant, which included extensive and excellent fieldwork by Marcin Jerzewski and Olimpia Kot at the European Values Center. I conducted a comprehensive comparative policy analysis between the EU's Global Gateway Initiative (GGI) and China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and the structural weaknesses in GGI's design that have drawn various criticisms, especially over its imposed unilateral rules and norms over recipient countries. BRI, on the other hand, is used as a comparison to showcase what GGI is missing and why these critiques came about, to better tailor the GGI policies to its recipient states.

1. Review of Human Acts by Han Kang - Vietnam Strategic Forum [Link]

I discuss the book and its framing of war and pain through my lens as a student of political science. Han Kang skillfully (and vividly) describes the worst of humans, but also the hopes within, inspiring readers to sit in silence in contemplation of war and its legitimacy.
